Cautleya spicata
Flowering time May to August. Deep golden yellow flowers with red bracts borne on a spike 12 to 25 cm long. Foliage shiny dark green above and purple red beneath. Ornamental and cold hardy. These are plants that belong to the Ginger Family. They are deciduous and start growing during spring and produce flowers that last over a month or more.

Mature flowering size rhizomes offered.

Use rich, well drained humus rich compost with an equal mixture of horticultural sand to make it well drained and mulch well. Prefers shady or partial shady area Lots of watering required during the flowering season. Can also be planted pots, ground, between stone walls or hanging baskets.
