Also called the �Shield Leaf Ariopsis� it has heart shaped glossy leaves, with great veining on the underside. It is a tuberous plant that is normally found in the undergrowth of forests in Sikkim in the Himalayas. The red-brown flowers appear before the foliage. The spadix has holes in to trap the pollen. It is from the Aroid family � It is best grown in tubs and containers, or in woodland borders � 15cm-25cm in height, and similar in spread � Light Shade to Shade, in rich well drained soil � Keep moist until established, protect from frost
