Coniogramme serrulatais a large, bipinnate fern known for its exotic, bamboo-like appearance and its native range across South and Southeast Asia.
It features a stout, creeping rhizome and large, arching fronds that can reach up to 1 m or more in length. The leaves are divided into numerous long, narrow leaflets (pinnae/pinnules) with distinctly toothed or serrated margins. It grows on moist mountain slopes in dense evergreen forests at high altitudes, across a wide distribution including India, China, Nepal.
Commonly named, "bamboo fern," is due to the appearance of its fronds.
We are selling them a bare roots with cut back leaves.
Growing Instructions:
- Light: Provide bright, indirect light or partial to full shade. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight, which can scorch the fronds. A location less than 3 feet from a south-facing window can maximize growth potential if kept out of direct sun.
- Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water regularly, but allow the top of the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. Use a humidity tray or mist the fronds regularly to maintain high humidity levels, especially if growing indoors.
- Soil: Use a fertile, humus-rich, and well-draining soil mix that is slightly acidic to neutral. A mix containing peat, perlite, and loam or leaf mould works well.
